Caprikorn Farms is Washington County’s premier goat dairy, located in Gapland, Maryland. For over thirty years, Alice Orzechowski & Scott Hoyman have been raising Saanen dairy goats in a completely natural manner, using no artificial growth hormones or GMOs. Caprikorn Farms' goats have won numerous national awards for total milk production, as well as butterfat and protein content. They are prized by dairymen throughout the country (and even overseas) and always rank among the highest milking goats in the country.
The farm is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where all of the goats browse as nature intended. Alice and Scott provide the highest standard of humane care. Although they have over 150 goats, each has a name and everyone totally enjoys their distinct personalities.
Caprikorn Farms’ artisan goat cheeses are hand-crafted in the time-honored farmstead tradition. Products include raw goat milk Cheddars, Gouda and Feta and pasteurized fresh and flavored Chevres. In 2012, Baltimore Magazine voted Caprikorn Farms’ fresh Chevre their “Best in Baltimore” award for cheese.
