Pennland Artisan Marketplace markets 5th Quarter Fresh as a part of its offering of specialty dairy products. 5th Quarter Fresh was developed in Boonsboro MD by four partners that were striving to make a natural, yet effective way to recover from workouts and exercise. We have partnered with the University of Maryland through the MIPS program to research the effectiveness and unique properties of 5th Quarter Fresh.
The Marketplace exists to add value to the milk produced by our farmers and reward their commitment to the cows and the consumer. We hand-select milk that meets our quality standards for both fat and protein content so that it will yield rich, creamy cheese. Our mission is to reconnect communities with their food source.

Our cheeses are produced with milk from the top Lanco farmers whose self imposed standards yield milk that surpasses industry guidelines for quality. These farmers share our belief that "cows come first" and excellent herdsmanship is rewarded with the quality milk essential to the art of cheese making.
